Player 1 vs… the world

In every game there are rules. You can’t play  a game without rules it would be pretty pointless and to be honest i wouldn’t waste my money on such a game, so where one’s life is concerned the same is taken into consideration. Some people can’t do without breaking rules. Some say rules are there to be broken. What do i say? I say God didn’t give Moses the 10 commandements for nothing. No really, that took a while to write down, then He (The Lord Of Hosts) had to write ’em down again because Moses got angry at Israel for idol worshiping and smashed the tablets.

So God wrote ’em down again, the ten commandments which is basically the template for the rules of life and the designs for the ipad tablet (now you know where they got the idea ). Jesus popped in later on down the line destined to save mankind and told everyone that the oh so difficult and srict laws that they were given could not only be simplified but condensed. Cleary, Jesus was very good at moral mathematics because he managed to come up with this:

1.) Love your God (ie the God of abraham , Issac and Jacob) with all your heart, mind and soul.

2.) Love your neighbour as yourself.

And so you have the two ground rules of life. They sound easy enough to follow but ‘the world’ is full of antagonistic elements which exist solely to derail us from the true path while others are actually born out of our own evil desires.  Kind of like venom when it made Peter parker become evil by feeding of negative emotions. There are many things to be aware of. Like what our weakness is, for some its gambling, others drinking, others drugs, or food, or talking even, for others, men and others women. We have not only these to battle with we have to be careful what we listen to with musicians singing evil music to worship the devil and all sorts and subliminal messages being thrown at people left right and centre.

It is quite the land mine out there but don’t worry we are children of God. The demi-gods in myth were always heroes fighting monsters to save the day. The heroes were favoured by their parents who offered divine support an dgave them implemnets with which to slay the fiends placed before them. We are no myth, we are new creations in christ. We are not only made in his image nd have the breath of life in us that He breated into us, He sent the holy spirit, the most amazing powerful force capable of amazing things, true raw creation power itself, more powerful than any ‘move’ Naruto, or Goku could do and vested it into his new creations in Jesus. The ‘subject to availability’ part comes in when you do not follow the two ground rules, especially consciously.

In a game you sometimes get the option of armour upgrades etc and all that. Well we (in the real world) have armour-spiritual armour! Read:

Ephesians 6:10-17

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Depending on what terrain you trod, you may find that you misplace, weaken, or even lose you armour during your game-real life is very much the same, but unlike alot of (irritating) games you can gain back your armour, if  you follow the rules and pray for repentance ( if neccessary).

Some may say in the world we live in isn’t God asking too much? Well, no because and i quote from the bible (rule book, manual etc):

1 Corinthians 10:13

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure

When i found this out i thought it was awesome. It’s like when you go all out on a game but on level is proving so difficult and you fail and you fail and you fail -agin and agin? well God doesn’t make it so hard for us-we have an escape route! And then you can continue on your journey being able to overcome always. Just like in the games where the longer you play the better you become. The principles are so similar.

Another thing to remember is that the external world can get tempting so becareful even when you think you are strong because you may get lulled into  a sense of security when really you are open wide to all ranges of attack and –BANG! Player 1 will be down! And you thought that level was easy. Read:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Rom. 12:2)

Life is never easy but its not hard either, it a journey to be enjoyed, just like your computer game- all the way till victorius end.

Every player has health in a computer game and it is constantly replenished meaning you can come back again and again. God’s grace is very much like that in real life. That’s why we say by God’s grace i will do this or that. The blood of Jesus is another thing which is in our favour as long as you believe.  God’s favour is another elemet to the package but is given when He choses in whatever quantity He wishes. Like all games they have manuals telling you how it’s done etc, well the manual for mankind is the bible with real life experiences of other people to guide you. And one tip i picked up is this: Be a man (or woman) after God’s own heart. How do you do that? Be ready to anything God want’s. This tip attracts bolstered health , several 1ups, coins, rings and other point currencey in the spiritual realm that will help you, like in the computer games, whoop butt big time!

Lastly, help each other (groud rule 2) There is no joy that beats playing a game to the ned and winning except , playing a game with someone and winning because you have someone with  whom to share. Multiplayer mode is awesom bcause if one falls the other can go all kung fu until the other recovers. It’s the same in real life , read:

Ecclesiastes 4:12

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

See! Multiplayer rules!  There is nothing like sharing another persons’ happiness, or sharing yours. Your testimony (which is another way of earning brownie points and 1ups) is very valuable so don’t keep quiet about what God has done for you! When you are playing multiplayer mode do you refuse to tell your partner , that could help you, the moves he or she needs to succeed? No. And if you do, stop it. Sharing is a big part of God’s charachter so we should share too as children who take after our father. Which brings me on to my last point.

When you are playing a game you don’t hit a the control pad  to  kill your player an din life its the same. Our God is a the creator He said let there be light and there was. We have the creativeness of the father on our tounges so be careful what you say.
